Some important information about plush toys.

  • 1. Plush toys need to be washed occasionally – it is recommended to wash them at least once a month or if they are visibly dirty. You can wash the toys in a washing machine or scrub them in the sink with laundry soap. Always follow the care labels on the plush toys, which indicate the proper washing procedure and ideal temperature. If you're unsure whether some plush toys are machine washable, wash them by hand instead.

  • 2. Most plush toys are suitable for children from birth, though some are intended for children aged 3 and older. This information is always provided on the label of the plush toy.

  • 3. Plush toys in the freezer – if a child suffers from dust and mite allergies, place all fabric toys in plastic bags once a week and freeze them for three to five hours on the maximum setting. Freezing will destroy the mites, microscopic creatures similar to spiders that are one of the most common triggers of asthma and allergies.

  • 4. Regular hand washing – it's important for children to wash their hands, especially after returning from kindergarten or school or after playing at the playground, as these are the most frequently contaminated places. By washing their hands before playing with toys, you can also prevent their favorite plush toys from becoming sources of various bacteria.
